Louisiana Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. corn meal
2 Tbsp. flour
4 small onions, chopped
1/4 c. sweet milk
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 egg
boiling water

Preparation

Pour enough boiling water over meal, salt, flour, chopped onion and black pepper to form a stiff mush.
Add this to milk, well beaten egg and baking powder.
Drop by spoonfuls into deep hot cooking oil.
Fry until a golden brown.
Delicious with fish.
