Ingredients

1 stick butter or margarine
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. sugar
1 c. dates, cut fine
3 c. Rice Krispies
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla
powdered sugar*
Preparation

Melt butter in skillet.
Add egg, sugar and dates.
Cook for 6 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from stove.
Add cereal, nuts and vanilla.
Form into 2 long rolls on wax paper that has powdered sugar sprinkled on it.
After they have cooled a little, press well so they will hold together.
Finish cooling in refrigerator, then slice.
