Cheese Scones - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 egg
3 oz. butter
3 oz. grated cheese (sharp Cheddar)
1 egg
milk (if needed)
Preparation

Sift flour, salt and pepper in a bowl.
Rub in shortening. Stir in grated cheese. Make a well in the center of ingredients. Stir in egg. Stir until it forms a firm dough.
You may need 1 or 2 tablespoons milk to hold together.
