Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box Pillsbury Ready pie crusts (2 crusts)
    4 apples (average size)
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    3/4 tsp. apple pie spice (nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice mixture)
    1/2 stick margarine
    red food coloring (other if desired)
Preparation
    Cut apples in half (8 halves). Peel and remove core from halves.
    Divide each crust into fourths and wrap apple halves so that round edges are drawn into the core of each apple half.
    (For added flavor, sprinkle cinnamon and sugar and place a sliver of margarine into core of apple halves before wrapping.)
