Boiled Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 gal. milk
    3 c. sugar
    8 eggs
    13 oz. can Pet milk
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Scald milk. Beat eggs; add sugar and milk.
    Add scalded milk slowly.
    Place mixture in a double boiler and cook until thick as cream, or until it coats a spoon.
    Add vanilla.
    Serve with whipped cream or whipped topping, if desired.
    Serves 20 to 24 inches.
    This recipe may be cut in half.
