Ginger Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 c. butter or shortening
1 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. molasses
2 eggs, beaten
Preparation

Sift flour once and measure; add baking soda, salt and spices. Sift together 3 times.
Pour boiling water over butter; stir until blended.
Add molasses, then beaten eggs and flour mixture.
Stir until blended.
Pour into greased and floured pan.
Bake 40 or 50 minutes until done.
