Dutch Raisin Apple Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. raisins
1 c. water
1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
4 to 6 apples, pared and sliced (4 c.)
pastry for 2 (9-inch) pie shells
1 lightly beaten egg and sugar (optional)
Preparation

In
large saucepan, boil raisins and water until liquid is almost
absorbed
(5
to
7
minutes).
Meanwhile, in small bowl, mix
sugar,
flour, cinnamon and salt.
Stir into raisin mixture with
lemon
juice and apples.
Turn into pastry lined pan.
Cover with
top\tcrust;\tcut
slits in top for steam to escape.\tIf desired, brush egg and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake in preheated 425\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350\u00b0 and bake for\t45
to 55 minutes, or until golden brown.\tMakes one 9-inch pie.
