Japanese Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    4 c. sugar
    3 c. plus 4 Tbsp. plain flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves or allspice
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. sweet milk
    6 eggs, separated
    1 box seedless raisins
    2 cans coconut
    1 c. pecans
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 lemons, peeled and cubed
    2 oranges, peeled and cubed
Preparation
    Cream butter and 2 cups sugar.
    Beat egg yolks and add to creamed mixture.
    Sift 3 cups flour with baking powder and spices; add alternately with milk.
    Add coconut, pecans and raisins which have been rolled in flour.
    Beat egg whites and add.
    Bake in moderate 350\u00b0 oven about 30 minutes or until done.
    Make 4 layers. Cool cake.
