Meatball Sub Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c chopped onion
    1/4 c seasoned bread crumbs
    3 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
    1 lb (1 loaf) bread cut into 1-inch slices
    1 pkg cream cheese (8 oz)
    1/2 c mayonnaise
    1 tsp italian seasoning
    1/4 tsp pepper
    2 c (8 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese divided
    1 jar (28 oz) spaghetti sauce
    1 c water
    2 cloves garlic minced
Preparation
    In a bowl combine onions, crumbs and parmesan cheese. Add beef and mix well. Shape into balls. Place on a rack in a shallow baking pan and bake at 400 degrees for 15 or 20 minutes. Arrange bread in a single layer in an ungreased 9 x 13 pan. Combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, italian seasoning and pepper. Spread over bread. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese. combine sauce, water, and garlic. Add meatballs. Pour over cheese mixture. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
