Fresh Lemon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. margarine, softened or melted
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1/4 c. sugar
juice from 1 fresh lemon
Preparation

Mix ingredients in order listed except last 2.
Bake in greased loaf pan at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes; check with toothpick.
Mix 1/4 cup sugar and juice from fresh lemon.
Heat slowly until mixture is clear.
Pour mixture over baked bread while still hot.
Let stand 15 minutes.
Remove bread from pan onto rack to cool.
