Soft Molasses Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. unsulphured molasses
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Sift flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon and salt together. Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and molasses to creamed mixture, mixing well. Add dry ingredients alternately with water, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Drop by heaping spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven, 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0, for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 2 dozen.
