Christmas Stars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
Preparation

In a large mixer bowl with electric mixer at medium speed, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg, milk and vanilla and almond extract until well mixed.
Wrap and refrigerate until firm.
Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Roll dough onto lightly floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut out dough with star-shaped cookie cutter.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 10 minutes or until lightly browned around edges.
Cool on wire racks.
Ice and decorate as desired.
