Pear Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 peck pears
    5 medium onions
    6 green sweet peppers, seeded
    2 lb. sugar
    5 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. mixed spices, tied in a bag
    1 Tbsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Peel and core pears.
    Grind pears, onions and peppers.
    Add sugar, vinegar, salt, spices and turmeric.
    Cook, uncovered, for 30 minutes after it comes to a boil.
    Remove spice bag.
    Pour into hot, sterilized jars.
    Seal.
    Makes 8 to 10 pints.
