Maine Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. dry beans
    1/2 lb. salt pork
    1/4 c. sugar
    2/3 c. molasses
    2 tsp. dry mustard
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
    onion (optional)
Preparation
    Soak beans overnight in cold water.
    On the next morning, parboil until skins crack when blown upon.
    Add salt pork.
    Mix sugar, molasses, mustard, pepper and salt into 1 pint of boiling water.
    Pour this over beans and pork.
    If necessary, add more boiling water to cover.
    Add more water when needed while baking. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 6 hours.
