John Hancock Special - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 slices white bread
    2 c. chopped ham
    2 Tbsp. mustard
    3 slightly beaten eggs
    2 c. milk
    several slices sharp Cheddar cheese
    salt, pepper and onion powder
Preparation
    Cut crusts from bread; butter one side and place buttered side down on square cake pan.
    Mix ham, mustard and seasonings and spread it over the bread.
    Cover with slices of cheese and top with remaining 4 slices of bread, buttered side up.
    Mix beaten egg and milk together and pour this over top layer.
    Chill, covered, for 1 hour (or leave in refrigerator overnight).
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour; serve immediately.
