Shoo-Fly Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. molasses (1/2 baking and 1/2 table)
2 c. hot water
1 Tbsp. soda
4 c. flour
3/4 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine in a deep bowl the first 3 ingredients.
Crumb and mix together the next 4 ingredients.
Take out 1 cup of crumbs for the top of cake.
Mix both mixtures together, putting the 1 cup of crumbs over top of batter in 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
