Blanc Mange - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 1/4 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in a deep, 1-quart heat-resistant nonmetallic casserole.
    Gradually add milk, stirring constantly.
    Heat, uncovered, in microwave oven for 6 minutes, stirring every minute.
    Allow to cook just until mixture begins to boil.
    Stir in vanilla.
    Serve topped with fresh fruit or whipped cream.
