Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 Tbsp. flour
1/4 c. beet juice
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
2 1/2 c. sliced beets
Preparation

Melt butter or margarine; add flour and blend.
Add beet liquid; cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
Add brown sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper and cloves.
Stir until sugar dissolves.
Drain beets and heat thoroughly.
Serves 6.
