Blackberry Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 tsp. cloves, ground
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    2/3 c. shortening
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 eggs
    2 c. blackberry jam
Preparation
    Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, soda, cloves and cinnamon. Add shortening, brown sugar and buttermilk. Mix until all ingredients are moist. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Add eggs and beat 2 minutes more. Add jam and beat until well mixed. Bake in 2 greased and lightly floured 9-inch pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes. Frost with caramel glaze or butter cream.
