Refrigerator Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. sifted flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 3/4 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 egg, well beaten
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    1 c. milk, scalded
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
Preparation
    Sift flour and salt together.
    Scald milk; add shortening and sugar and stir until dissolved.
    Dissolve yeast in water.
    When milk has cooled, add 1 cup flour and stir until smooth.
    Add yeast and egg; beat well.
    Add flour gradually until dough becomes stiff enough to knead with hand and has a satin like finish.
    Place in a greased bowl; cover with a clean damp towel and place in the refrigerator until the next day or set in a warm place and let rise until double in size.
    Form into rolls.
    Let rise again until double in size.
    Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 400\u00b0.
    Makes 3 dozen.
