Microwave Peanut Brittle #1 - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raw peanuts
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    In a 1 1/2-quart casserole, stir together peanuts, sugar, syrup and salt.
    Cook 8 minutes on High (stirring well after 4 minutes).
    Stir in butter and vanilla.
    Cook 2 minutes longer on High.
    Remove from oven and quickly stir in soda until light and foamy.
    Immediately pour onto a lightly greased baking sheet; spread out thinly.
    When cool, break into small pieces.
    Store in an airtight container.
    Yields 1 pound.
