Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
4 eggs, well beaten
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. black walnuts, finely chopped
1 c. butter
3 c. cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar; add beaten eggs.
Beat until light and fluffy.
Sift flour once before measuring and twice after.
Add baking powder and salt before last sifting.
Add vanilla to milk. Alternately add the sifted dry ingredients and milk to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with the flour.
Fold in nuts.
Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour or until cake tests done.
Cool in pan for 10 minutes and then turn out on rack to cool completely.
Serve plain, dusted with confectioners sugar or with cream cheese frosting.
