German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 5 lb. potatoes
    1/2 lb. cut bacon, fried
    1 medium onion, diced
    5 Tbsp. bacon fat
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. vinegar
    3/4 c. plus 1 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Cook, peel and slice potatoes; set aside.
    Cook bacon until crisp.
    Remove from fat.
    Measure 5 tablespoons bacon fat; put in large skillet.
    Heat.
    Add flour and make a paste.
    Add water, vinegar, sugar and onions.
    Stir until smooth.
    Add 1 tablespoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper to taste.
    Add potatoes and heat through.
