Soft Molasses Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. lard or vegetable shortening
    2 c. molasses
    4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
Preparation
    Beat the shortening, boiling water and molasses together.
    Add sifted dry ingredients.
    Mix well.
    Drop by spoonful about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
    (Batter is very soft.) Bake in 425\u00b0 oven about 8 minutes.
