German Sweet Chocolate Pie - cooking recipe

2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (1/4 lb.) pkg. German sweet chocolate
3 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. whipping cream
Preparation

Combine egg whites, salt and cream of tartar; beat until foamy.
Add sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time, beating well after each addition.
Beat until it holds very stiff peaks.
Add nuts and vanilla.
Spread in lightly greased 9-inch pie pan.
Make a depression in center and build up sides slightly.
Bake 50 to 55 minutes at 300\u00b0.
