Shortbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    1 c. sugar
    5 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients together with hands.
    Divide into 8 (I usually divide into 4 rather large balls) parts and pat into rounds 1/2 inch thick on a cookie sheet.
    Prick with a fork.
    Bake in a preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 15 minutes.
    Reduce heat to 300\u00b0 and bake about 30 minutes longer.
    Cut into 8ths and return to oven until the edges are brown.
    Store in airtight container.
