Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 oz. red food coloring
    2 eggs
    2 c. cake flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. pure vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening until fluffy; add coloring and eggs one at a time.
    Beat 1 minute after addition of each egg.
    Sift flour, salt and cocoa together 3 times; add alternately with milk. Add vanilla.
    Dissolve soda in vinegar; fold into batter.
    Pour batter into three 9-inch pans which have been greased and floured. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 26 to 28 minutes.
