Nut-Brown Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 (1 lb.) box light brown sugar
    5 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream butter and shortening; add sugar, 1 cup at a time.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.
    Sift together the sifted flour and baking powder; add alternately with milk, beating well. (Start and end with flour.)
    Add vanilla; mix.
    Add nuts and mix well.
    Pour into greased, floured tube pan.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
