Grandpa'S Deep Fried Crappie Fillets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 crappie fillets
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. milk
    1 egg
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    dash of salt
    pepper
    garlic powder
    2 c. corn meal
    1 c. self-rising flour
Preparation
    Mix all but flour and corn meal.
    Soak fillets in mix 30 minutes.
    Mix dry ingredients.
    Coat fillets.
    Dip in marinade and re-coat if desired.
    Let stand 30 minutes, re-coat in corn meal mixture.
    Lower into preheated deep fryer at 360\u00b0 and cook until fish floats.
    Serve with onion slices, lemon pepper or tartar sauce.
