2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. margarine or butter, softened
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. quick cooking rolled oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts or shelled sunflower seeds
6 oz. pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
In large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, margarine, vanilla and eggs.
Beat at medium speed until well blended, about 1 to 2 minutes.
By hand, stir rolled oats, nuts and chocolate chips.
Drop by well rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.
Makes 28 cookies.
