Portman Pudding(3 To 4 Persons) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 oz. flour
    4 oz. each: grated raw carrot and potato
    1 tsp. mixed spice
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    level tsp. bicarbonate of soda
    pinch of salt
    1/2 c. sultanas and raisins
    2 oz. fat
Preparation
    Cream fat and sugar; add carrot, potato, flour, spice and soda.
    Mix well together.
    Add fruit.
    Add water if necessary to make a stiff dropping consistency.
    Steam for 2 hours at least.
    A sweet that needs little sugar!
