Eggless Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/2 c. sour milk
1/2 c. lard or butter
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
3 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Sift flour once; measure, add sugar, cocoa, soda and baking powder; sift together 2 or 3 times.
Cream butter and milk alternately with dry ingredients.
Flavor and bake in moderate oven.
