Bev'S Chicken Italiano - cooking recipe

4 boneless chicken breasts
3 Tbsp. margarine
1/4 c. onion, diced
1 can Italian tomato sauce
garlic powder to taste
Italian seasoning to taste
1 c. Italian bread crumbs
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 c. green pepper, diced
Mozzarella cheese slices
pepper to taste
Preparation

Melt margarine in baking dish in 350\u00b0 oven.
Wash chicken. Dip in beaten egg until well coated.
Mix bread crumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and pepper; roll chicken in mixture until well coated.
Place in baking dish.
Pour tomato sauce over the chicken; sprinkle with onions and green peppers.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
Remove from oven and top with cheese.
Continue baking for 20 to 25 minutes or until chicken is tender.
