Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak
    2 tsp. salad oil or shortening
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 to 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
    1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes (undrained)
    2 medium onions, sliced
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato paste
    1 green pepper, cut in rings
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    6 carrots, peeled and sliced lengthwise
Preparation
    Pound meat into serving pieces.
    Dredge in flour, seasoned salt and pepper mixture.
    Brown on both sides.
    Pour tomatoes over meat.
    Combine onions, tomato sauce, green pepper and garlic. Pour over steak.
    Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
    Add carrots and cook 1 hour.
    Serve with hot rice if desired.
