Jam Dandy Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. regular flour
    1/4 c. granulated sugar
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. milk
    1 egg
Preparation
    Turn oven to 375\u00b0.
    Pop all these things into a bowl at once. Beat 50 quick strokes with a fork.
    Pour into a greased 9-inch square pan.
    Sprinkle top with 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed) and 1/4 cup chopped nuts.
    Then dot with 2/3 cup jam (cherry is great).
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes (test with a wooden pick).
    Serve it warm to as many as 9.
