Ingredients

1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 stick margarine, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 egg white
1 tsp. water
Preparation

Sift flour, salt and baking powder together.
Beat margarine, sugar, egg and vanilla until fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Fold in flour mixture.
Fold in walnuts.
Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on lightly greased sheets.
Beat egg white and teaspoon of water in a cup until just combined.
Brush over cookies.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until firm.
Cool on racks.
