Granny Byrum'S Chicken Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 whole chicken, cut up or 3 to 4 breasts (skin on)
salt and pepper to taste
4 heaping Tbsp. meal
2 heaping Tbsp. flour
Preparation

Put chicken in large pot; pour in about 3 quarts of water. Cook about 45 minutes until chicken is done.
Remove chicken; set aside.
Mix meal and flour in large glass.
Finish filling glass with water; stir well.
Pour this into boiling chicken broth.
Cook until this thickens slightly.
Remove from heat.
Put chicken back in pot or pick chicken off the bone, then stir in pot of stew. Serve with cornbread.
