Beef Pot Hot Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 lb. ground chuck
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 c. celery with leaves
    1 c. carrots
    1 c. potatoes, grated coarsely
    1 c. cabbage or green beans
    8 c. hot water
    2 c. cooked tomatoes
    1/2 c. quick barley (pearled)
    4 tsp. instant beef bouillon
    1 tsp. salt
    1 bay leaf or celery stalks
Preparation
    Brown the ground beef and onion in butter; add remaining ingredients.
    Simmer for an hour and stir.
