Cake Top Chocolate Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. milk
    1 c. flour
    1 c. sugar, divided
    3 Tbsp. + 1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa, divided
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 2/3 c. hot water
    1/4 c. sliced almonds (optional)
    chilled heavy cream or milk or vanilla ice cream (for serving over pudding)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Melt butter; add vanilla and milk.
    Set aside.
    Mix well flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt.
    Stir in milk mixture just to blend.
    Pour into a deep, 2-quart casserole dish.
    Sprinkle evenly with remaining 1/2 cup cocoa and 1/2 cup sugar.
    Pour hot water over top.
