Ingredients

1 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour (sift before measuring)
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. granulated sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0 oven.
Into large bowl, sift flour with baking soda and salt.
Add sugars, egg, vanilla and butter.
With wooden spoon, beat until smooth and well combined, about 1 minute. Stir in walnuts and chocolate pieces.
Drop by the tablespoon 2-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.
Remove to wire rack; cool.
