Caramel Apple Custard - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. milk, scalded
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (1 lb. 5 oz.) can apple pie filling
nutmeg
Preparation

Combine pie filling and brown sugar.
Divide evenly between 8 custard cups or use a 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
Add salt and sugar to beaten eggs.
Slowly stir in milk.
Add vanilla.
Pour into custard cups or baking dish, pouring into a spoon over the apple mixture to avoid mixing.
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Set in shallow pan of hot water.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 60 minutes.
Serve cold.
