Baked Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    6 qt. popcorn
    nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Melt butter, brown sugar, syrup and salt.
    Stir as it comes to a boil.
    Reduce heat and cook 5 more minutes without stirring. Remove from heat. Add vanilla.
    Pour over popcorn and mix well. Put into shallow pan and bake at 250\u00b0 for 1 hour. Remove and cool. Break apart and store in a tightly covered container.
