Hard Rock Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 3/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. corn syrup
    1 c. water
    1/2 bottle flavoring
    food coloring
    1/2 c. powdered sugar
Preparation
    Add sugar, syrup and water in pan.
    Stir until dissolved.
    Add food coloring; do not stir anymore.
    Boil about 15 minutes or until thermometer is 310\u00b0.
    Test for readiness by dropping a bit in cold water.
    Pour in lightly buttered pan.
    Let sit until hard and cold.
    Break up.
    Shake pieces in bag with powdered sugar.
