Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. yeast
    2 c. lukewarm water
    1/2 c. sugar
    5 3/4 to 6 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in 1 cup lukewarm water.
    Add sugar, salt and shortening.
    Add 2 cups flour and beat well; add beaten egg.
    Add alternately with the other cup of water and remaining flour. Cover with damp cloth.
    Place in refrigerator overnight.
    Punch down and work a little.
    Then take off portion needed; make rolls. Cover remaining dough and place back in refrigerator.
    Keeps well for several days.
    Bake when doubled in size at 425\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes until brown.
