Italian Sweet Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head cabbage, shredded
    1 onion, thin sliced in rings
    7/8 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    3/4 c. salad oil
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. powdered mustard
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Layer shredded cabbage in a bowl alternately with onion rings. Top with 7/8 cup sugar.
    In a pan, bring vinegar, oil, sugar, salt and spices to a boil.
    Pour over cabbage and onion in a bowl while hot.
    Cover and let set in refrigerator for 4 to 6 hours.
