Ingredients

2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening (oleo)
2 1/4 c. (1 lb.) brown sugar
3 eggs (large)
1 c. chopped nuts
1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels (6 oz.)
Preparation

Sift flour with baking powder and salt.
Melt oleo in a large saucepan (2 1/2 to 3 quarts).
Stir in brown sugar and allow to cool slightly.
Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add flour mixture, chopped nuts and semi-sweet chocolate; blend well.
Turn into greased pan, 9 x 13-inch.
Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 25 to 30 minutes.
When almost cool cut into strips, 1 x 2 1/4 inches.
Makes 48 strips.
