Coconut Sour Cream Cake - cooking recipe

18 1/2 oz. butter flavored cake mix
2 c. sugar
1 (16 oz.) carton sour cream
1 (12 oz.) packed coconut
1 1/2 c. whipped topping
Preparation

Prepare cake according to package directions.
Cut both layers in half when cooled.
Combine sugar, sour cream and coconut. Chill; reserve 1 cup of mixture.
Divide rest between flour layers. To reserved cup of mixture, add whipped topping.
Spread over cake. Place in airtight container and let stand and set for 3 days.
