Key Lime Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. fresh lime juice
    1/2 c. cold water
    3 eggs, separated
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. grated fresh lime peel
    green food coloring (if desired)
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 (9-inch) baked pastry shell
Preparation
    Combine 1
    1/2\tcups sugar,
    cornstarch
    and salt in a 2 quart saucepan.\tAdd
    lime
    juice, water and egg yolks;\tblend well. Add
    butter
    and
    gradually
    add
    boiling
    water.
    Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat and cook 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Stir in lime peel and green food coloring.
    Remove from heat and cool 20 minutes.
    Put in shell.
