Ingredients

1 c. packed brown sugar
6 Tbsp. flour
1/2 c. hot water
1 c. milk
3 beaten egg yolks
2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg whites
6 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix brown sugar with flour.
Add hot water.
To this mixture add milk. Add beaten egg yolks (use egg whites for meringue).
Add margarine or butter.
This will melt as mixture heats.
Cook until thick.
Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and pour into a baked pie shell. Meringue:
Beat the egg whites until stiff.
Add 6 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
Beat again.
Place on pie filling and bake at 350\u00b0 for 18 minutes.
