Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

1/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. bran
2 Tbsp. water
1 1/2 c. mashed bananas
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar. Add egg and then bran.
Mix thoroughly.
Combine water and bananas.
Add alternately with sifted dry ingredients; mix thoroughly.
Add vanilla and nuts. Bake in waxed paper-lined loaf pan (5 x 9-inch) at 350\u00b0 for
1 hour.
